Joan Sarro began her formal herbal medicine studies in 2011 and graduated from the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing in Calgary, Canada. She is a Registered Herbalist certified by the Canadian Association of Medical Herbalists and Alberta Herbalist Association. She became an educator for Wild Rose Products in 2016 and continues to work as an educator in the Natural Health Products industry. In private practice, Joan provides individualized wellness consultations and dispenses customized plant remedies, along with nutritional and lifestyle recommendations, to promote wellbeing and balance. Joan is certified in several complementary modalities, and she works well alongside medical professionals in client care.
Joan actively promotes herbal medicine via national media talks, corporate wellness sessions, and has a line of herbal products under her dispensary business, the Wild Botanic Bar. It is also important to her to continuously learn through conferences and workshops by mentors and peers, and conducting ongoing research on the clinical and traditional uses of herbal medicine.
Along with her love of plants, Joan has a background in the arts and is an active radio broadcaster, producer, and podcaster at CJSW 90.9FM Calgary and serves on their Board of Directors.
